About Us
Hi there,
I'm Youssef, the founder of MTE and I wanted to introduce myself to you.
I am a Dutch-Tunisian who is currently based in Jarkarta. When I lived in the Netherlands, I went to NHTV Breda and studied tourism management as not only were my parents in the industry but travelling & exploring has always been a passion of mine, you could say it runs in the family. Living in Indonesia has given me the opportunity to really take in the culture & interacting with the locals gave me a better understanding of what they enjoy & how they enjoy doing it.
So after carefully observing what was missing from the Asian market, specifically the Indonesian market, I decided to create Mediterranean Travel Expert. Alongside my family, we are combining our experiences & knowledge of the Tourism industry and above all our passion to exceed our travellers expectations.
My story started 30 years ago when I spontaneously took a trip to Tunisia. Here, I was offered a good job as a guide for Dutch, Belgian & French travellers which allowed me to explore all that the country had to offer. I decided to stay & found that each year that went by, I learned somuch and experienced so many different things.
After several years of living in this impressive country, I eventually met the love of my life & started a family, raising 2 healthy sons. Both my husband & I have worked in tourism our whole careers which has gained us a lot of experience, and has also helped us build a good life. Today, I'm starting a new chapter of my story.
Together with my son, who is based in Jakarta, we are offering unique tours to beautiful Tunisia, the country I call home. Our tours are tailor made to the Indonesian market as we know exactly what the Indonesian traveller wants out of their holiday : a combination of culture & stunning landscapes. With my knowledge and my son's hard work & determination, we are able to present unique, honest & above all great experiences to our travellers. Sincerely, Denise Cornelisse
